Villa Medici’s beautiful Room of Birds
In the rear section of Villa Medici’s gardens stands a decorative pavilion, often referred to as the “Aviary.” The room is painted with ornate trellises with flowers, birds and little animals, also called the Stanza degli uccelli (“the Room of Birds”) painted by Jacopo Zucchi in the 16th century. It’s an utter gem … just look at the marvelous little birds and creatures hidden everywhere in this amazing room!

The “Aviary” itself is well worth taking the tour of Villa Medici. But, so is the view over Rome!
